“You’re world class, genuinely, world class”

- John Mayer

Andrew’s Journey

It all began with an email in the fall of 2021. After a successful run on NBC’s The Voice and successful move to Nashville, TN, Marshall was asked to recount his wish experience and perform an original song for the Massachusetts Rhode Island branch of Make-A-Wish America at their annual gala in Boston.

Remembering how impactful getting to meet and play with John Mayer was for himself as a nineteen year old aspiring singer-songwriter, Andrew knew that not only knew this was something he wanted to do, but something he had to do.

Due to the hardwork and incredible generosity of donors that evening, the chapter raised well over one million dollars to fund wishes for children living with life-threatening illnesses all across the Massachusetts and Rhode Island area.

Soon enough, represenatives caught wind of Andrew’s speech and song leading to his involvement at the national conference in Orlando in the fall of 2022. There he performed and met countless members of chapters all across the world, and began his more involved work with Make-A-Wish as a whole.

Andrew now prides himself with sharing his story of battling leukemia and his artistry to Make-A-Wish chapters all across the country, such as Oklahoma, Washington, Colorado, and others.

“It is so incredibly inspiring to get to see the amount of passion that this organization has from the volunteers all the way up to the CEP’s and Founders. The message is simple, to raise more money to grant more wishes. And the fact that sharing my story helps that mission is priceless”

— Andrew Marshall, 2023
